The Voss family is the 4th generation to run their chocolate hotel in Westerstede near Bremen. Truffles, pralines or chocolate suites? 80 rooms and suites, a wellness area and the restaurant tempt you to book in a sweet way. The centerpiece of the hotel is the chocolate lounge. Here, guests can enjoy a wide range of chocolate variations. The chocolate workshop, where visitors can make their own chocolate, is particularly popular. That is also wellness. It is important to the owners that the cocoa is imported from fair Colombian cultivation.
The young hoteliers know that a modern website is very important for the success of the hotel. That's why they decided to relaunch their hotel website in fall 2022. And for XPORT. The aim: to convince guests to enjoy a chocolate-filled stay with a streamlined and intuitive website.
The new digital presence went online at the beginning of 2023. With a focus on clear user guidance. The intuitive hellohotel.io content management system allows hotel employees to manage content flexibly. The hotel USP presents itself perfectly: Germany's only chocolate hotel.
XPORT impressed with the creative idea of integrating a gimmick on the website. Digital fun that motivates and rewards website visitors. If the user guides the chocolate bee to the flower with the mouse, they receive a hotel voucher. This is a fun way to discover that pollination of the bean is a necessary prerequisite for the cocoa blossom. The add-on is used very often and many vouchers are distributed.
The new website helps to present the north German hotel as an attractive destination for chocolate lovers. The manageable budget and the schedule for the "hotel website" project were easily met.
In addition to the website, XPORT also manages the chocolate hotel's online marketing. Reach and booking volumes are generated via metasearch platforms such as Trivago and Tripadvisor.

Around 70 percent of website users pay their first visit to the chocolate hotel using a mobile device. For the website design, this meant that the site had to be optimized for mobile devices in particular. In any case, XPORT works according to the "mobile first" concept.
