The Empire Riverside Hotel is the "lighthouse" at the port of Hamburg. An international hotel with a special reputation, exclusive service and, last but not least, a fantastic view. Alongside the telephone, the website is the hotel's strongest sales channel. The site's high authority and SEO ranking were to be maintained despite the relaunch. A lean, flexible and intuitive open source system for editors was required. Together we decided on ProcessWire.

On the recommendation of direct booking specialist myhotelshop.de, XPORT was able to introduce itself to the hotel management and marketing management of the Empire Riverside Hotel an den Landungsbrücken in Hamburg in the fall of 2017. After open discussions and coordination on goals and wishes, it quickly became clear that we would be allowed to implement the relaunch of the website.
The impressive website traffic and the successfully established SEO rankings could not be damaged by the relaunch. This is why a web and structural analysis and the recording of KPIs were particularly important in order to be able to check these after the new website went live.
XPORT developed a customized design based on the company's corporate design. The CMS of choice was the open source model ProcessWire. This was used to create these complex and technically demanding features, among other things:
The categorizable image gallery incl. text editor and linking.
An editable environment gallery with distance range.
The integrated event calendar for external and internal events.
The video interface for image films and live webcam.
Links to the Incert voucher store and onepagebooking-IBE from HNS.
Import guest reviews from various portals and display them on a landing page.
Different, qualified inquiry forms for conferences and events.
An individual career page with detailed job advertisements.
A special feature was the split test of the HNS booking engine version 4 against the new version v5 (onepagebooking) from Hotelnetsolutions. Together with myhotelshop, we were able to provide the Hotelnetsolutions development team with valuable insights from the test to improve their IBE. Win-win for the Empire and HNS.

The proportion of website users who visit the Empire Riverside Hotel on their smartphone, get inspired and dream of their next city break is an astonishing 66% of total website traffic. After all, tablet users make it to 5%. This is why the XPORT designers and developers paid particular attention to the implementation of the mobile website.
